A collaborative workshop was recently organized with Women on Wings and Madhya Bharat Consortium, focusing on the crucial theme of Profit Margin in Product Development. The session brought together grassroots entrepreneurs, trainers, and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) to explore how better planning, quality control, and efficient warehousing can directly impact profitability.
Through interactive presentations and discussions, participants examined:
- Incoming Quality: Procurement parameters, measurement tools, and common errors in raw material testing.
- Warehousing & Storage: Best practices in flooring, pest control, ventilation, stacking, and fumigation to ensure product safety and consistency.
- Profit Margin Strategies: How reducing wastage, improving packaging, and maintaining quality standards can enhance market competitiveness.
The workshop emphasized that sustainable profit margins are not just about pricing but about systematic product development—from procurement to storage, and finally to market delivery. Women on Wings experts shared practical insights, while Madhya Bharat representatives highlighted local challenges and solutions tailored to FPOs.
By blending technical knowledge with hands-on training, the initiative aims to empower rural producers to scale their businesses ethically and profitably, ensuring long-term impact in the agricultural value chain.
